Youth from across BC between the ages of 18 and 30 are invited to be part of a youth-run jury at the 14th Vancouver Latin American Film Festival, August 25 – September 4, 2016.

To announce the participation of Brazil, as the Guest Country of honour at the 14th edition of the festival, on February 9th in collaboration with the Consulate General of Brazil, the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival will be presenting the highly acclaimed film HELENO, followed by a wine reception.

Brazil will be the guest of honour at the 14th edition of the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival. This is the first time that VLAFF will be hosting Brazil as the guest country.

Latin American Entries for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards
Last year, a record 83 countries submitted features and the eventual winner was the Polish feature film Ida, directed by Pawel Pawlikowski.
Christian Sida-Valenzuela, VLAFF's director, attended the prestigious ''Festival do Rio'' in Brazil as a jury member for the main competition Premiere Brasil
